About Me:
My name is Tim Baisden and I am excited about the opportunity to serve as the CTAE (Career, Technical and Agricultural Education) Director for Pickens County Schools. After Graduating from High school, I was able to utilize the CTAE training I received to work as a Drafting Engineer for a Tier 1 Manufacturer of Chrysler Transmissions. While there, I was able to design parts that are currently still being used in Chrysler Products. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. in Technology and Design Education and started teaching in Michigan because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of students the way my CTAE teacher did in high school. I later earned a M. A. Degree from Eastern Michigan in Educational Leadership with the hopes of spreading the passion I have for CTAE to an entire school. My wife and I moved to Georgia in 2004 and I have worked as a High School Engineering teacher and as a Middle School Technology teacher in the Bartow County Area. While in Bartow, I help to start the Floyd County College and Career Academy as well as the Bartow County College and Career Academy to train students with real world job skills. In 2012 I earned an Educational Specialist Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Brain Based Education.
As a former Drafting Engineer and Engineering Teacher, I value all of the programs and Career Technology Student Organizations (CTSO’S) that CTAE offers to our students. In many of the current programs represented at PHS, students have the opportunity to obtain industry-recognized certifications before ever graduating. These opportunities can help give our graduates an edge as they enter the workforce and/or post-secondary educational institutions.
I am thankful for the opportunity to work with such a terrific staff. The CTAE department is made up of outstanding individuals who have a passion for their programs and a history of proven success. I look forward to working with the staff, students, parents, and community to make Pickens County one of the premiere CTAE programs in the state.
While not at work, I enjoy building Rail Buggies out of old VW's and hiking with my wife. We love College Football and exploring different parts of the state.
